In addition to the above, we also offer a ‘No Bow Guarantee’. That means if there ever was a failure on the door due to bowing, we will replace and fit for free!

The ‘No Bow Guarantee’ is offered with every Smart Signature door, as we are so confident that our doors do not bow or warp like composite doors can. Warping or bowing is caused by seasonal movement in hot or cold months, a normal occurrence which is the door material reacting to changes in temperature. If you have a dark coloured door that gets a lot of sunlight during the day, you may have experienced the door catching or needing an extra shove later in the day? This is seasonal movement at work. Composite doors are particularly prone to this, and in some cases it can cause real headaches with the operation of the door.

Due to the construction of our doors from pure aluminium, precision engineering and high quality locks and hinges, our doors are guaranteed not to bow (or we fit and replace for free).

Yes, all of our Signature doors come pre-hung in a 60mm aluminium outer frame. If you’ve ordered the same colour door and frame, this is a perfect colour and finish match which is not possible with composite doors.

Exact U values vary depending on design, but the minimum U value of any Smart Signature door is 1.4. This makes the Smart Signature range very energy efficient and suitable for both refurbishment and new build projects.

Our doors are no different to fit to any other door hung in an outer frame, which means they require skill and care. Many customers will source their own installer, and some even install themselves if they have experience or are competent DIY’ers.

We provide installation guides and 4 air bags to assist with installation. As aluminium is a robust material, if properly installed there should be no operational issues with the product in years to come, which is perhaps not the case with timber, composite or uPVC.

If you’re not able to install yourself, or perhaps just don’t want the hassle and would prefer a robust 5 year installation guarantee, then our survey and installation service is the perfect option. In this case we take care of everything - we even send one of our trained surveyors to come and measure the door for you.

The main reason many double glazing installers are now favouring aluminium over composite doors is that the product is almost impervious to seasonal movement - otherwise known as bowing. Whilst composite doors are a great product, they are notorious for seasonal movement during hot and cold weather, which can often lead to operation issues such as door dropping and catching. Our doors simply do not have this issue, which is why we offer an impressive ‘no bow guarantee’.

Finish depends on the colour range you choose - we recommend customers go for a textured finish. Many companies offer this as a premium upgrade, but we offer this at no extra cost. The textured finish has a more premium, high end look, is more resistant to scratches and is very UV resistant. The textured finish is available on bespoke RAL colours, Creations range, Sensations range and selected colours from the Naturals range.

No, all doors are bespoke and made to measure. This ensures the doors meet your exact requirements, as all openings are slightly different.

Yes - we have several doors on display at our head office in Stockton on Tees. We can also arrange appointments at the Smart showroom which is near Bristol.

Both door ranges are stunning, so here are a few guidelines to help you choose:

• Smart Signature doors are cheaper than the Designer doors, and cover the most popular door styles on the market. They offer the same security accreditations and guarantees, so if Signature covers the design you want we recommend Signature as a general rule.s


• Smart Signature doors offer longer guarantees on hardware, locks and cylinders (10/15 years against 12 months for Designer doors)


• Designer doors can cover bigger sizes, so if you have a larger door than normal Designer doors are the choice.


• Designer doors offer a lot more styles, many of them very modern and more tailored for a showpiece door. Again, if this is the goal then Designer is worth the extra investment.


• They offer colour matched hinges


• Designer doors have a flush finish on the outside. If you have flush sash windows, or just prefer a flush appearance, then Designer may be the best choice.

Yes - our aluminium composite doors are coated with marine grade paint as standard, which makes them suitable for coastal properties. Unlike many other suppliers, we do not charge extra for this.

No way - Our doors are designed to be maintenance free save for cleaning and a yearly drop of oil on the moving parts. We also give an impressive 25 year paint guarantee on the finish of your door.

All of our doors come with 3 keys as standard, but more can be provided upon request.
